My journey in the life sciences sector began with a degree in Biochemistry, specialising in Drugs. I entered the pharmaceutical industry as a sales representative with GlaxoSmithKline. This early experience provided me with invaluable insights into the inner workings of the industry, setting the stage for my future endeavours as a life sciences industry 'insider' headhunter.
With over twenty-five years of first-hand experience holding regional and global roles across big-pharma, mid-size, and emerging companies, I have honed a diverse skill set. From managing teams and coaching commercial acumen to spearheading marketing initiatives, evaluating investment decisions, and leading business development deals to closure, my multifaceted background equips me with a comprehensive understanding of the industry landscape.
A decade ago I transitioned into the role of an executive search consultant, specialising in identifying and recruiting top-tier executives and non-executives at the board and senior management team level. Leveraging my extensive industry knowledge and network, I have been proud to have played a pivotal role in facilitating key appointments that drive organisational success in some leading companies.
I come from a working-class immigrant background. I was raised in the South Wales Valleys speaking English as a second language. I now live in Monmouthshire and London with my family and our dog. In my free time, I lift weights and am a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu addict. I’m a dedicated composter and tend to my own garden. I find creating delicious meals for my loved ones using local organic ingredients stupidly satisfying.
I love great leaders. I'm fascinated to understand what makes them tick. Helping place people in settings where they can realise their unique talents and help those businesses grow thrills me. Identifying untapped potential, forging powerful new connections and empowering individuals to become the best versions of themselves is not just a privilege, it's an adventure!
“Whatever you are, be a good one.”
William Makepeace Thackeray
